Tracing Constellations

One cold night, beckoned by tides
We are pulled outside to sea
The universe has paused for us…

The stars are shining in your eyes
As I trace the constellations
That are mapped out on your skin.

My mind returns to ancient times
When heroes were preserved
Forever as diamonds set in black.

I look away and towards the skies
As I search for those patterns
And my heart races as they appear.

I feel your warmth, to my surprise
It brings me back to Earth
Your smile reawakens the universe.

(I had to do this poem as part of a project for my Geology class. I can't decide if I like it or not, but since I've taken to posting my finished poetry, I figured I would post it.)

  1. With eyes closed, read your poem, and use your soul to path yours ways; Dont decide, let the Universe make that move. ;)
